This Week on Artist & International Dance (8/9)07 Aug 2020, Posted by Uncategorized in
This Sunday the weekly program, Dance Diplomacy with Jonathan, continues:
Sunday morning’s interview offers an up-close introduction to two women whose performances are featured in the Battery Dance Festival. Lori Belilove has graced several earlier Festivals with her passionate renderings of the Isadora Duncan repertoire, going back all the way to 1987 at the World Trade Center Plaza. She will join the luminous roster of women celebrating the Centennial of the 19th Amendment on August 18th.
Dorchel Haqq is an inspiring new-comer with great promise and hope despite the challenges of the pandemic. She takes us into the thought process of a young Black choreographer who is developing her voice in a time of upheaval and change. Her work will be seen on the Festival’s opening evening, August 14th, along with inspiring colleagues in Black Voices in Dance.
Tune in at 9 am and 12 noon EDT on August 9th.
