Dancing to Connect for Refugee Integration is part of a five year multi-city initiative in Germany funded by the ERP Transatlantik program of the German Federal Government with funds from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Embassy Berlin, Schöpflin Stiftung, and the Qatar Foundation International, with the support of many local partners. In Weinheim and Mannheim, Battery Dance will work with 100 refugee/non-refugee participants to create five new dance works that tell their stories. The workshops culminate with a final public performance showcasing the newly completed works, as well as repertoire from Battery Dance.
