Dancing for Trust Germany – 2023
15 Sep 2023, Posted by inBattery Dance returns to Germany for the second year of its Dancing for Trust initiative, this year centered around the City of Halle (Saale) in the Federal State of Sachsen-Anhalt. Twenty school teachers will learn Battery Dance’s methodology during a week of training, followed by workshops in 10 schools in which Battery Dance teaching artists will accompany the teacher trainees, implementing the creative sessions that have gained the Company a worldwide reputation for excellence in the field of arts education. Final performances will be presented on October 11 and 12th at the Volkspark Halle in which the student groups will present their completed choreographies and Battery Dance will present two works from Hofmann Dances: “The Wind in the Olive Grove” by Saeed Hani and “A Certain Mood” by Tsai Hsi Hung. Saeed, a Syrian dancer/choreographer now based in Germany, will also take part in the school workshops as a guest artist.
Dancing for Trust embeds the themes of mutual respect and tolerance among people of different origins, beliefs, ethnicities, gender identity and ability through collaboration, team-building and the artistry and practice of dancing together.
