Bethany Mitchell has been a member of Battery Dance since 2015, performing, choreographing and leading workshops and master classes across the U.S. and around the world. She is a native of Mission Viejo, California, and received her early dance training at the Ballet Conservatory of Saddleback Valley under the direction of Alan McCarter. She began her professional career as an apprentice with Ballet Pacifica and also danced with State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara, City Ballet of San Diego, and Liss Fain Dance in San Francisco. After receiving her B.S. in Business Administration from San Francisco State University in 2012, Bethany moved to New York and has since worked with Royal Caribbean Productions, The Onomatopoeia Theatre Company, and Indelible Dance. She has led Dancing to Connect Institute teacher training workshops for Battery Dance in New York and Utah, and conducted a Dancing to Connect mini-workshop for the Fulbright Conference in Puebla, Mexico, in 2018. In New York City, she teaches creative movement for the very young at the Mark Morris Dance Center and Harlem School of the Arts; and has taught Dancing to Connect workshops for Battery Dance at several public high schools in New York City.
