A consultant on Non-Profit Strategy and Organizational Development, Christine Vogel is currently working with Battery Dance Company as Institutional Development Specialist.  She recently served for six years as Chief Development and Branding Officer at AFS Intercultural Programs, a global intercultural learning and secondary student exchange organization based in New York. There, she worked with AFS Partners in more than 50 countries to orchestrate and implement a global brand re-articulation of the 65-year old AFS brand. She also quadrupled annual fundraising at AFS Intercultural Programs.

A graduate of Georgetown University with a Master of Arts in Teaching (K-12) from Montclair State University, Christine was founder and principal of The Learning Experience, a federally-funded inner city alternative high school in Newark, NJ.  A certified teacher, she co-authored the Scholastic publication: Now I Get It! Helping Struggling Readers Understand More of What They Read with Joan Lazar in 2010.

Christine has been a radio personality; award-winning television and radio documentary producer and writer; founder of Newark MediaWorks, a non-profit marketing & communications company serving more than 400 non-profit clients; and writer, producer, and creative director for business-to-business communications for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. Ms. Vogel worked at AFS-USA from 1998 to 2006.  She joined the company as Vice President for Marketing, Communications, & Education and was subsequently named Vice President for Operations & Marketing, and later, Vice President for Business Development.

A non-profit entrepreneur with a lifelong interest the arts, Christine has served on many Boards, including serving as President of the Newark Arts Council for two terms.
