EMAD SALEM
DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
Emad Salem oversees Battery Dance Company’s international programs, monitoring and evaluation, and the cultural diplomacy toolkit. Emad’s previous experiences include advising and consulting NGO’s, multilateral organizations, and governments on public diplomacy, capacity development, education development, research methodologies, and strategic development. Emad holds a Masters, with a focus on Economic and Political Development, from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a Dual Bachelors in International Studies and Economics from American University.

ELENA RYABOVA
DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR DOMESTIC PROGRAMS
Elena Ryabova, Deputy Director for Domestic Programs manages the Downtown Dance Festival, Battery Dance Company’s New York City Public Schools programs, and the Studio Share program. A graduate of the Central European University where she majored in Political Science and Economics, she brings to the Company over 10 years of non-profit experience in the United States, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. Elena has managed hundreds of multicultural exchange programs between the U.S. and Eurasia and implemented arts projects, including festivals and arts residencies, in the U.S. and across countries of the former Soviet Union.

MEGHAN FINN
DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT
Meghan Finn works as a freelance development consultant, event producer and grant writer. She has served in this capacity for Battery Dance Company for the past two seasons. Current and past clients include The Lower Manhattan Arts League, Soho Rep, The Civilians Theater Company, Elevator Repair Service, The Bushwick Starr, 3LD, Dance New Amsterdam as well as choreographers Maria Hassabi and luciana achugar. She also works as an independent theater producer and director |

REED RIDGELY
BOOKEEPER
Reed Ridgley serves as bookkeeper and has previously general managed many shows Off-Broadway. Favorite projects include The Scottsboro Boys, Wig Out!, Beautiful Child, The Long Christmas Ride Home, Miracle Brothers and [title of show]. He is also currently the general maanger for Carrie at the Lucille Lortel. |

CRAIG GREENE
CULTURAL DIPLOMACY TOOLKIT INTERN
Craig is a recent graduate of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in German. His studies focused on Interbellum European politics, Modern German History, International Relations and the German language and culture. Craig was part of Phi Alpha Theta, National History Honor Society and Delta Phi Alpha, National German Honor Society. Additionally he was the recipient of a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) grant to study in Bremen, Germany. Craig is a liaison for Battery Dance’s Cultural Diplomacy Toolkit and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Company’s goal to use dance as medium of cross-cultural dialogue to further mutual respect and understanding. |

VERENA ENGELE
INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS INTERN
Originally from Italy, Verena is in her final semester of Arts Management Studies at the ISW Business School in Freiburg, Germany. After her studies in European Economics at the Free University of Milan, Hàskolnnin Ì Reykjavìk University in Iceland, and related work experience, she decided to undertake a shift towards her passion: the arts. Languages, travel and different cultures are an important part of her life and she is therefore excited to contribute to BDC's international program, Dancing to Connect, gaining significant work experience in the cultural diplomacy field. |

KRISTINA HARRIS
SUMMER INTERN
Kristina Harris is in her final semester as a B.F.A dance major at Adelphi University. She joined BDC as an intern in January, looking to supplement her performance training, choreographic studies, and passion for dance with training in the field of arts management. She will be working on upcoming projects such as the Downtown Dance Festival, and is excited to be learning the logistics of running a dance company and organization. |

CHRISTINE MAGDALENE
FELLOW
As a United States Navy veteran Christine Magdalene has over seven years of experience developing and implementing ad hoc projects as lead creative director. She earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and another Master’s Degree in Global Leadership during her tour of duty. Continuing on the path of knowledge, Christine recently completed a year at Stanford University taking advantage of the startup and development training offered to fellow entrepreneurs and is currently working with Battery Dance Company on marketing & communications, branding and business development of DtC Institute, BDC’s new and innovative teaching artists program. When not working for Battery Dance Company, Christine writes screenplays, dances until the sun rises and travels the world every chance she gets. |
